On September 19th, 2002 I was driving down Van Nuys Blvd. here in LA. I looked up in the sky and saw a rocket streaming across the sky. I turned to my gf and said,"Well...I guess this is it. We must have pissed someone off!"
I pulled over, parked, got out of my car, took out my camera and began shooting. I truly thought this was the end for us. I was surprised at how calm and just simply accepting I was of my fate.
As it turns out, no such martyrdom was in the cards for LA residents that day. It was a rocket launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base. Some kid of test I heard.
This is the trail it left in the sky.
Very apocalyptic!

Mature content because I mooned the rocket.

That is amazing! I was on vacation in the US when this happened! A few of us decided to go camping in Yosemite National park, we had driven from Point Mugu USN base and stopped in a small town for food when we saw the rocket trail. Only a couple of us had POS cameras and none of us got a decent shot.
Many thanks for the memories.

Should have posted sooner! You did a thing most humans do. When they see something they cannot comprehend or explain, they jump to extreme conclusions.

Amazing how we can surprise ourselves with our own reactions to things. There's something kind of exciting about the fact that you can't know for sure how you'll react to an extreme situation until it's actually happening (or appearing to happen). Really gets the mind rolling to think about it...

Well, at least I know when we all go out in nuclear war it'll be all nice and pretty before the flash of light, and the disintegrating shock wave. Hooray for colorful ICBMs! I wonder if the government uses RGB or CMYK? Where the hell is Matthew Broderick when you need answers to these important questions? :?

:iconciliath:
ciliath Featured By Owner Jan 8, 2012  Student Digital Artist
rgb is how light work (red + green + blue = white)
cmyk is how paint work (cyan + magenta + yellow + "black" = black)

so yeah...

Well put Ciliath, well put. Then again we all know the government does indeed engage in "Black Ops". It makes one wonder. I bet they use the Munsell color system, those bastards! I blame Eisenhower! Who's with me?

As far as I know, they run on a CMYK because of and assumed "wider" color array or whatever. =P
